  • Settled: Lars E. Olson, emigrated from Sweden and homesteaded 160 acres there, calling the propertu the Diamond O Ranch
  • Origin of Name:  On the way through the area, on a ranch owned by Alfred and Esther Westerberg, many changed horses at the barn and property on the creek, so the community became known as Station Creek
  • Historical Overview: A ranching area east of Riverdale; the Franklin-to-Montana stage lines followed Glendale, crossing where the canal tunnel cuts through the divide to Glendale Reservoir; the community there became known as Station Creek; it has been said that the roads in the area did not follow the valleys, but rather, the old established Indian trails; travelers from Cache Valley often stopped by its lovely spring and verdant grass on their journeys to Bear Lake
  • Location: Accessible on E riverdale Road, at East Station Creek Road, 9 miles (14 minutes) east of Preston on Hwy 36
