    • Settled: Settled in 1865, but its residents moved in an Oxford fort the winter of 1865-66 because of Indian troubles
    • Origin of Name: Named after the area’s wild rushes
    • Historical Overview: A rock school was built in the Rushville District; built on the shores of a marsh, but when rainfall increased in 1870s, its residents moved to Clifton
    • Location: 15 miles (17 minutes) west of Preston on Hwy 36
