  • Settled:  Originally settled in 1870 by trappers, then later settled by Mormons from Utah
  • Original Name: Trout Creek after the stream on which it is located
  • Origin of Name: Uncertain origin; either Italian word “lago” (lake) or from an Indian word
  • History: Post office operated 1887-1965, has cemetery
  • Location: 22 miles (25 minutes) west of Soda Springs  on ID-30 W, then south on ID-34 W
  • Population:  No population figures on this unincorporated Idaho rural community
