  • Settled: Established under the Carey Land Act of 1894
  • Origin of Name:  Named after William D. Kenyon, a Burley businessman who tried and eventually failed to establish the town of Kenyon
  • Notable Features: Originally the 2nd rail stop on the Oregon Short Line Railroad of the Union Pacific Railroad on the Oakley branch, which runs from Burley, south to Oakley, south of Pella and north of Churchill and also the name of the community in its vicinity; grading of the project was begun by the Minidoka Southwestern, a predecesor of the UP; the project was completed in May, 1911; later it was a labor camp south of Burley; had a post office 1911-1919 
  • Location:  11.8 miles (18 minutes) southwest of Burley on Hwy 27 S, turning west on 700 S
