  • Settled:  1895, townsite laid out in 1914
  • Origin of Name: Reportedly a variant of Indian “Ink-um” or “come ahead”
  • Known for:  Located on Union Pacific Railroad; for many years, cement factory was located here; now more of a bedroom community for Pocatello; Post office (1903,) city hall, LDS church, elementary school, museum, known for a geologic feature somewhat patterned after a rabbit, but vandals destroyed an ear
  • Location: 12.9 miles (17 minutes) southeast of Pocatello, ID on I-15 S
  • Population:  824, as of 2022
