Origin of Name: Named Cherryville after the area’s many chokecherry trees in the area
Known for: A small, rural farming community at the mouth of Cub River; once had a school that also served as a church; a noted band, called the Cherryville Brass Band that played at many events
Location: Up Maple Creek Road and includes a narrow valley, bordered by high mountains, about three miles northeast of Franklin on hwy 91 toward Cub River
