- Settled: Families passed into the area in 1865 from Richmond, and planted the area’s first crops; the next year many moved three miles south, esablishing West
- Origin of Name: Named for the abundant cedars that grow in its hills and along Weston Creek
- Known for: Ranching, and mostly dry-farming, the area was abandoned for a short time, due to Indian problems in its early years
- Notable History: Had a church and reportedly three schools; electricity came to the area in the 1940s
- Location: 3 miles west of Weston on hwy 38,
