- Origin of Name: Named in 1894 for John R. Bothwell, president, engineer and promoter of the local Bothwell canal system
- Known for: Many early settlers were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or German members of Christian Apostalic Faith; originally an agricultural center, it is now the site of many industrial concerns; during 1930s – early 1960s about a fourth of the area’s farmers raised turkeys; unincorporated in 1937 to issue bonds for culinary water
- Notable Features: Cemetery, LDS Church; Wagonland Adventures, known as being the largest privately-owned collection of horse-drawn carriages in the world is located in Bothwell, west of Tremonton on Hwy 102
