  • Known for: Milner Dam, an early irrigation project opened the western Magic Valley to agriculture, leading to settlement in Twin Falls and other settlements in that area; during construction of the dam, over 1,500 people lived there, many in tents; located near Caldron Linn, site of the first recorded death of a white man in Idaho as John Jacob Astor’s party traveled through the area on their way to Oregon in 1811
