  • Settled: In 1869; Thomas Rowland built the first home in St. John
  • Origin of Name: In 1875 early LDS apostle Lorenzo Snow was invited to dedicate a cemetery there. When he asked what the cemetery was to be called, someone suggested St. John. Thereafter, the cemetery and the community came to be known as St. John
  • Notable Features: Cemetery; once had a LDS church, now a private residence
  • Location: 3.3 miles northwest of Malad on Bannock St.
